Synopsis

Edgardo Gil Mirasol Jopson, popularly known as Edjop, was a labor rights activist during the reign of former President Ferdinand Marcos. He finished his grade school, high school and college education at the Ateneo de Manila University. After taking his bachelor of science degree in management engineering as a cum laude graduate of Ateneo, he enrolled at the University of the Philippines where he studied law for two years. On January 26, 1970, Edjop led the NUSP in the biggest student demonstration ever in Philippine history. In December 1970, Edjop was honored as one of the country’s Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) for his leading role in the youth movement.
