When the Japanese War broke out, the Philippine Army became part of the United States Forces in the Far East and was later moved to Bataan as part of the holding force that was to keep back the Japanese until reinforcements came from the United States. He suffered the infamous Death March from Bataan to Capas, Tarlac.
